Document Version Control

Modified on Wed, 17 Feb 2021 at 08:34 AM

FileHound's version control allows you to manage multiple variations of the same document. This is particularly effective when it is important to keep a clear record of how the original document was created, developed and changed over time.

Each time a new version of a document is uploaded FileHound applies a unique identifier, which enables you to identify the latest version of the document and differentiate between versions of the document by enabling you to view them side-by-side.

Adding a new version of a document

To add a new version of a document, follow the steps below:

STEP ONE: While in document view select 'New Version" from the main toolbar

Click New Version to upload the latest version of this document

STEP TWO: When the Upload New Version pop-up modal appears, press 'Choose'

Click Choose to open your File Explorer

STEP THREE: Choose the new version of your document from your File Explorer

Select the latest version from your File Explorer

This will then load the new version of the document and display the newest version

Now you will see your Version History in the Audit History

The Version History will show in the Audit History of the document

REMEMBER:

Each time a new version is uploaded FileHound keeps an audit trail of each version throughout the documents life cycle – perfect for supporting the delivery of ISO standards.
