Moving a Document

You can move a document to another cabinet, folder or inbox in two ways, below demonstrates how:

Move a Document from a Folder, Smart Folder or Search

STEP ONE: Select the document(s) to move by checking the checkbox next to the row.

Check the checkbox beside the documents you wish to move

STEP TWO: From the toolbar click the 'Move" button.


Click on Move on your toolbar

STEP THREE: On the options dialog, click the folder icon.

STEP FOUR: Choose the folder you wish to move the document(s) to.

Click on the folder icon to choose where to move your document


STEP FIVE: Once the folder has been selected, press the 'Move" option.

Once a destination is chosen, click Move

STEP SIX: You will see a confirmation once the file has been moved.

Move a Document in Tab View

STEP ONE: Open a document in a new tab by clicking on the document you wish to open.

STEP TWO: From the toolbar click the Move button.


Click on Move on your toolbar

STEP THREE: On the options dialog, click the folder icon.

Click on the folder icon to choose where to move your document

STEP FOUR: Choose the folder you wish to move the document(s) to


Select a folder from the list provided

STEP FIVE: On the options dialog, press Move to move the files. 

Once a destination is chosen, click Move

STEP SIX: You will see a confirmation once the file has been moved

REMEMBER:

If a document is moved by a FileHound user the date, time and username of who performed the move will be recorded in the audit trial of the document - great for GDPR audit and data compliance!
