Allow Attachment Sharing - How to enable attachment sharing outside of your internal firewall

Sharing Methods in FileHound

FileHound has a few different methods for sharing files with others. By default, our Secure Sharing feature allows you to send a link to your recipient, which can be password protected. You can even apply an expiry period for the link, to ensure it's only valid for a limited time.

For more info, check out our support article on Securely Sharing a Document

However, in some cases you may have a need to share a copy of a document with somebody outside of your organisation as an email attachment. This could be for a number of reasons, such as:

  • Providing recipients with their own copy of a file which they need to edit

  • If your FileHound instance is behind an internal firewall, you may also need to use this sharing method.

NOTE:

As a FileHound Administrator, you will first have to change your organisation's Email Settings in the Admin Centre as shown below in order to enable the 'Send as Attachments' option. See below:

Step One: Log in and navigate to the Admin Centre by clicking on the Administration button from the charm bar

Step Two: Click on the Email Settings button

Step Three: You will be presented with a modal. On here click the Allow Attachments checkbox
